What is Pigment?
Pigments are solid materials in various shapes and sizes suspended in related solvents or water. This material can be seen in black and white or colored.
The pigment can change the color of reflected or transmitted light by absorbing the wavelength of its choice.
Pigments should have higher coloring properties than the materials they are supposed to color and remain solid at room temperature.
Pigments are used in the production of inks, coatings, plastics, and colored polymeric materials.

- Coloring Power: Usually, minerals have higher coloring power.
- Appearance: Minerals are usually opaque, but chemicals are more transparent.
- Specific Viscosity: Chemicals have a lower specific viscosity than mineral pigments.
- Thermal Resistance: Chemical pigments have lower thermal stability than minerals.
- Brightness: Chemical pigments have more brightness.
What is Paint Paste?
Paint paste is made from the combination of pigments with water or suitable solvents based on the need and type of use. Based on this, pigment pastes are divided into water-based and solvent-based pigments.
The most common solvents used in varnishes, printing inks, automotive finishes, and many other uses of pigments include ethanol, ethyl glycol monoalkyl ether, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, ketones, esters, and a mixture of nitrocellulose solvents.
The most important characteristic of a pigment is that it is insoluble in the solvent used. It means not returning the color to the solvent.
Due to the powder and dye state of the pigments, powerful mixers must be used to dissolve them in the base.
Uses of This Paste:
Solvent-based pigment pastes are used in making cosmetics, coloring various resins, and slime paste. This paste is for use in polyester, vinyl ester, and epoxy resins.
Since the easy dispersing of pigments is related to energy consumption and thus the economy, so this feature is very important to consumers.
